SOMETHING ABOUT ME ︎︎︎

Ranran Ma is an illustrator and ceramic artist based in Beijing, China.
Her practice unfolds from a space of personal curiosity and quiet reflection, engaging with themes of metaphor, symbolism, and the living presence of animals. Through intuitive exploration and self-healing processes, her work gradually forms a poetic visual language that drifts between reality and imagination. Rather than offering direct narratives, her images invite gentle contemplation, carrying subtle emotional currents and a sense of inward storytelling. The pursuit of emotional depth and a distinctive narrative sensibility remains central to her ongoing artistic journey.
She received her Bachelor’s degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2023 and is pursuing her MFA in Illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design, expected in 2026.
