There was a square lawn with white lines. It made you think of a tangram puzzle.
People came here from everywhere. They all came for a picnic on the grass.
Some were alone, some were in a group, and well, some were just a puppy.
The white lines divided the lawn into different small areas.
The space seemed to be evenly distributed, like street lanes.
But the lines were crisscrossed, like the edges of a tangram puzzle.
At the beginning, people enjoyed their peaceful moment within their own area.
As the sun moved, the sunlight shined unevenly on the grass.
As the wind blowed, only a part of lawn got the breeze.
People began to peek into other’s territory.
And they started seize the better space by moving the white lines.
The fight became more and more intense, and the areas became more and more uneven.
Someone was knocked down and fell into the white line.
They became the white line themselves.
More and more people fell into the white lines.
They became the white lines themselves.
Eventually, all the white lines were replaced by the fallen people.
Soon, a new group would come to have a picnic on the tangram-like lawn.

Spatial relationship is a concept that exists at various levels, ranging from the smallest proximity between individuals to the broader context of political stances within a society or country. The assertion of this relationship has perpetually remained unseen. Humans have consistently regarded the air and territory surrounding them as possessions or affiliations. As civilization advances, the notion of territoriality becomes more deeply ingrained and demanding. In today’s society, where individuals vie for cemetery plots from infancy to death, competition pervades every aspect of life. The struggle for space is a manifestation of the struggle for power. Owning more space equates to having more rights, turning the domain into a symbolic marker. I introduce the act of picnicking, typically associated with relaxation and enjoyment, into this space race. This addition forcefully incorporates the right to space into people’s daily activities, allowing viewers to intuitively sense the invisible power dynamics present in everyone.
